Mad money for sure but thats what they have been fetching lately. It means that I'll have to give up any hope of owning this piece along with the archer. Couldn't justify paying that money for such a small sculpt.

Yup. This one and the Moria Orc Archer statue have been hovering around the $1000 point for a few weeks now. I recently picked up both and managed to do a lot better than the going price. My Orc Swordsman is taking a little vacation in Maryland on his way up here but he'll get here soon enough. :)

The $$$ is crazy for sure but don't sell them short just because of their size. Awesome pieces and very well detailed.

Zurb they are awesome pieces for sure. But I only paid $200 more for a Cave Troll and theres no comparison. And of the three orcs/uruki's i think the Uruki Scout is the best one.

I hear that the weather is lovely in Maryland this time of year.

No question Bullseye, the Cave Troll blows these guys away in seer size and sculpt. Daddy Rog and Cave Troll are THE pieces and their prices reflect it. I got my Cave Troll last week and I was stunned at his size. Beautiful, awesome piece. Unfortunately, he didn't make it in one piece and will require some repair work but he'll be fine in the end. Yesterday I finally received the Urk-hai Scout Swordsman statue and man is that another awesome statue.

The Uruk-hai Scout Swordsman is the best out there. Only CT and Balrog are better IMO.

MOS and MOA are great pieces, some of the best...but not on the same level as Uruk Scout IMO.

I hope that you tip the delivery guy cuz you are really working them. Then again if your cave troll showed up broke, maybe not too big of a tip.I am curious how many pieces you have gotten that were broken? :banghead:

The arm holding the Hammer was broken. It was a clean break and is a know stress point and problem area with these pieces.

Boerboel, I didn't completely answer your question. Over the course of the last few months of intensive collecting I have received more damaged pieces than I had hoped. 6 different pieces if I remember correctly.

6?! That's harsh! These things are delicate, people don't get it. Here goes another one off the wanted list. These prices are insane. If I happen to find one at a decent price I'd get it but i'm not shelling out that much.

I mean how many pieces altogether have arrived broken?Only six...thats not too bad! You have the largest collection that I know of and it seems that you are still getting pieces often,so that is why I was asking.

An instructive thing to note is that the high bidder is all the same guy. There's a group of people probably mostly from Europe that have been driving up prices on all Sideshow LotR items. Whether real or not, once they have what they want prices will hopefully come down a bit.

We'll see.

Sorry to hear about the CT Zurb. There is an obvious design flaw with him. I'm just amazed mine arrived safely.

I noticed that too dfchang. And they are all based in Denmark i think. Something strange going on there.

Don't believe a word of it! He's still holding out on the Ringwraith on Steed. All he'll let me do is come over and look at it.

It's a very cool statue, IMO the best Orc statue they did.
The price seems crazy, but it's deffinitely worth the money.

S, yes it's awesome but I think the Moria Orc Archer statue is just as good.

Which of the two orcs do most people prefer. I prefer the archer simply because you can see the face.

Sure you do Rick! That explains why you're building a small army of them :eplus2:
