Thanks for the PMs mates.

I had Outpatient Nasal surgery yesterday to repair a deviated septium. Apparantly I had my nose broken multiple times as a kid and never new it. Hooray for step dads and fights at school. I'm doing fine. hurts little, on hydrocodone. should be right as rain in a week. Miracole has to put cotton gauzes up my nose. I look like Jack Nicolson from Chinatown. And oh yes....she took pictures.

Think I was getting off that easy?

I had this surgery done in '05. The first two days are hell but after that it slowly gets better. My doc left the splints in for a week to make sure it came out straight. She told me it could take six months to a year before you see final results. I didn't believe her but you do notice a difference from six months post-op to one year post-op. I'm glad I did it, breathing much easier now.

Remember not to sneeze! Just swallow hard and that should help fight the urge.

Thanks EW. No splints for me though.

Swallowing sucks.

yeah I know...easy joke.

I can appreciate that, although the tube they apparantly had down my throat and the blood draining back there from my nostrils doesn't seem to have much of a sense of humor today.

I had this done 20 years ago and I was unable to fight back a sneeze right after I got home. I had to crawl in the bathtub i was bleeding so bad!
Did they do any cutting of your sinuses? Plus mine all grew back so I am as I was before

Here's how it went down...

I had a deviated septium from my mother's wonderful husbands kicking our asses all the time, and I'm sure fighting at school didnt hurt either.
They did a something-o-plasty
they straightened it from the inside, and removed excess scar tissue and growth to open the passages up. Here's a pic... a la Jack Nicolson from Chinatown
