Okay, the other day I was out to lunch with a friend of mine. We went to Red Robin, it is a pretty family/kid friendly place.
So I see this kid/boy/man, couldn't have been more then 21, walk up and was talking to the hostest. After while he turns to go sit down and I see his t-shirt, and it was horrible. It was the rabbit from the Trix cereal and with a comment about homo-sexuals.
It upset the hell out of me. I was offended, and felt like saying something. There were moms with thier kids eating lunch, and this jerk is wearing this t-shirt.
I was tempted to say something to the manager, as I did not think it was appropiate attire, and I was not quite sure if he worked there as he seemed to know allot of people.

It takes allot to offend me, but I really hated this guy's shirt...it was just wrong.

Should I have said something? Would you have?

if you wanted to complain you shouldve said something to your waitor or the manager... but not to the person direct because 9 times out of 10 it would cause a conflict...

no I would never say something to someone directly about something such as this, you never know who you dealing with

if you feel wronged, you should always step up to say something

I think it was more of "what an idiot" feeling more than anything. I am all for freedom of speach and such, but I think you have to sort of know when and where. There is/was no good that could come from this shirt. I guess I wonder what he was thinking about when picking out something like that??

I would've said something...but it probably would've been along the lines of

"nice shirt, douchebag."

The guy appears the uncouth idiot for wearing a shirt as trashy as that...no worries on him being treated like one daily, I'm sure. :)

It really doesn't say anything.
But that Trix shirt (if it's the one I'm thinking about) is really offensive.
I woulda gave him the "you're an ass-hole look", and waited for a response.

Thanks, I did not want to go into details, but I was really bothered by it. I guess I also find it disheartening. I always like to think that we are moving forward as a society, and we I know we are, but then you see this and it takes you back a bit.

I don't know, maybe I am making a bigger deal about this than I should. Normally I am not all that serious.

Well, I see it this way ... there's no available proof that the Trix Rabbit is gay ... but there is TONS of undeniable proof that Bush is a raging moron.

So, in essence, I see it as giving the rabbit the benefit of the doubt ... while the other one has removed any trace of doubt himself. :)

Right on, Jess! :buttrock:

I always thought the leprechaun from Lucky Charms was gay. What's your opinion on that? Especially with his "Always after me lucky charms" line.

Jus' askin.

On another note, about as offensive I get in public is to wear my Doodie.com or College of Carnal Knowledge Tees. My wife (if no one else) is mortified.

Hell yeah. I had one back in the day. CIRCLE JERKS the hardcore band form LA.

If you're gonna wear offensive stuff you gotta be man enough to kick the sh!t out of anyone that gets in your face. Young people's brains are not fully developed(true fact), so they do dumb stuff. I would've never worn it in front of my mom, but in public it was a game. Stupid, immature.

Now that I'm an old creepy freak, I'm the one telling the kiddies they look like a douche, and I'm big enough and have been around enough that I don't care what they think.:)

.. or too redneck.

more than likely, once he put the shirt on, he forgot all about it and would have been surprised that anyone even noticed.

Freedom of speech is an important right, but with rights come responsibilities, and just because one has the right to wear an unsavory tee-shirt or make an unsavory comment doesn't preclude the responsibility of good judgement...

in other words, just because you have the right to do it doesn't mean that you should...

I definitely think a word to the manager would have been justified.
