What would the Spidey comics be like if Ben Reilly was still around?

I wanted to know what everyone thinks the Spidey mythos would be like if Ben Reilly was still alive. I don't mean as Spider-Man or as the "real" Peter Parker, but in the Scarlett Spider guise, remaining a spin-off character like US Agent or War Machine. And even then, he wouldn't have to show up in Spidey's books 100% or even 40% the time.

How would this affect Spidey stories through the years starting from the Clone Saga all the way up to BND?

Personally, I think Reily is still alive & wandering around America.

Reily 1st appeared in ASM # 149, which was still before Quasada used the wackback machine on Spidey.

Ben Reilly is/was a skrull... the clone saga never happened.. Just a couple of skrulls running around.

At least I would like to think so.

I liked Ben, but didn't like the storyline.

This is a good question, though--did BND "undo" the clone saga?

Were the bullk of the Ben Reilly stories in the late 80s or 90s? I've got to admit, I'm not well versed on him. Was Ben Reilly the Spidey clone that Spidey eventually put in the furnance back at the end of one of the Jackal stories in the Ross Andru era?

All the Ben Reilly stories were 90s, I think.

Not all the Ben Reily stories were in the 90's

His first appearance was 1975, which is before BND

Yes, Quasada did say the clone saga never happened, but he didn't say Reily never happened

Big difference

If I remember correctly, Reilly's origin is rooted in Amazing 148, but he is not the same clone that was dumped into the smokestack. He was a second clone, who realized what he was and wandered the country until the Clone Saga storyline.

I wouldn't mind seeing Reilly make a return appearance. The Clone Saga started out as a decent story, but was a victim of it's own success.

Personally always liked Kaine

Like to see him return into Peter's life.
