I was slicing a dill pickle on the meat slicer in the delicatessen when I sliced off the tip of my right thumb.

What about your scar?

Scar on abdomen from an operation when I was 11. I had sprung a leak internally, and water was collecting around my right testicle......is that too much info!!!

The one on my chin's from a dodgem injury when I was three, the one on my forehead is from going head-first through metal doors when I got pushed over playing five-a-side football indoors, and my knees are slowly turning into two big masses of scar tissue, the legacy of me now playing outside on sand-covered astroturf.

11 years old, tripped while roller skating, landed chin-first on the sidewalk. It turned into a nice Harrison Ford scar.

1-incher across the scalp over my right ear, quarter-sized on my right trapezius - skin cancer

1-incher across my left palm. A bottle of OJ I was holding slipped and hit the counter, broke in two. The bottle cracked right up my palm and laid it open.

Around the groin area - hernia when I was 7.

Left ankle - nailed by the roof of a classic car that people cut off to use as a sled. It was rusted and had like five kids on it when it came careening down the hill and nailed me. I was 10.

Left elbow - wiped out on a ten speed when flying down a street. My foot slipped off a pedal and it was al over. The scrape/cut went all the way to my bone. I passed out when saw it. I was 13.

Chest - firecacker exploded on me. It was summer and I was sweating like a pig. Me and some friends were lighting firecrackers and throwing them at each other. Well, one hit me on the chest and it ws held on by the sweat and *BAM*. 13 was a bad year.

Hmmm.....

Where to start? I will document injuries as well as scars. all things that are permanent! :D

Left Knee: 6 years old: Rusty door latch on a metal locker. Me being stupid and jumping of a bed and accidentally catching on the latch.

Right Middle finger: 12 years old: Can off dog food. Lid was still attached and didn't realize it as I grabbed it to dispose of it.

Right Palm: 16 years old: Knife wound: As I had gotten locked out of my apartment by my friends playing tricks on me. I proceeded to bang on th door open handed and flat palmed. You can guess the rest.

Alright I tell you more. Idiot friend thought it would be funny to stick a steak knife out of the peephole and as I didn't see it. And did not expect the door to have a steak knife sticking out of it, I slammed my hand down onto the knife and watched it protrude from the back of my hand. Not a fun day after that I assure you!

Left wrist: 17 years old: Permanent misalignment of wrist joint from Judo Training. It looks fine, but will at times lock for a second and then snap back into place. Not a big deal. Occupational hazard.

Right ankle: 18 years old: US Army training. Torn ligament and stress fracture during jump school training. Re-occurring injury due to weakness of area from first injury. Just tape it up and walk it off. Not a problem!

Left wrist: 20 years old: Shrapnel hole: Accidental miss fire on the range. Ball bearing from buckshot lodge in wrist and is still their today. And was done by one of my closest friends.

Left Pectoral: 22 years old: Broken Beer bottle: Mutli person brawl in a bar. I was a bouncer and while dragging one member of the fight out, one of his adversaries decided to attack him while I had him subdued. Nonetheless I turn the one I had in hand away from the attacker and the attacker decided to attack me. So after get a cut from his beer bottle I threw the first subject out the door and dealt immediately with the my broken beer bottle wielding friend. Needless to say. He doesn't play with broken beer bottles and more. Not sure if he can even hold a beer bottle anymore.

Left thumb: 23 years old Permanent/reoccurring stress fracture: Martial Arts Grappling injury.

Lower back & Left Knee: 34 years old: Tear of the left side meniscus tissue in left knee and two herniated discs in lower back. As I was a passenger in a vehicle that was hit while stopped at a light by joy riding 16 year old kids in an SUV doing 60mph that the stole from their older brother while he was away at school!

That was probably my luckiest escape from death.

14 months of Physical Therapy

I consider myself lucky since this is all that has happened to me so far. And I had been a Bouncer for various night clubs for over 12 years, in the military, am a hunter, train in full contact martial arts and obviously have a bunch of idiot/maniac friends.

Someone upstairs is looking out for me! :D

After reminding myself of all that I feel sore. May have to get a massage today! :thumbs2:

My left thumb - When I was 11 or 12, for whatever reason, the can opener wasn't working properly. I thought I could simply slice the rest of the can open with a sharp knife. The knife slipped out in mid slice and cut into my thumb just below the nail... I felt like such an idiot afterwards. I really knew better too.

Reminds me of a couple years back. I was fourty-something and was rifling through my kitched utencil drawer. With the lightest amount of pressure I pressed down on a Pampered Chef apple slicer with my thumb. Went almost through to the bone. It took forever to heal because it was a razor-sharp cut. Left minimal scarrage, though!

This reminds me. My one (of many) firecracker incident was a bottle rocket on New Years Eve several years back. Shot it off in the dark, hit a tree, and came back and exploded on the side of my head.

My collapse lung was from a logging accident that I've talked about before. It included couple herniated discs, several broken ribs, and my left arm broken in 3 places. Worse break one bone specialist had ever seen in an upper arm. No cast or rods. I used my mutant healing factor. Arm is a little bowed though.

No real big scars. Hands and foreams are totally scared up though from doing outdoor type of work my whole life. Still have a piece of wood under one scar.

One funny thing that didn't leave a scar was shooting myself in the leg with a nail gun. It slid down and triggered the safety against my leg. Figured I better be safe and move it. Bam! Nail stuck in my leg.

Yeah, got myself in the inner thigh just close to the knee.

Now that logging incident was too close for comfort. My co-workers say I wasn't beathing and nor had a heart beat for a few seconds/minutes. Don't remember much of that day. Mostly that I wanted the nurse and Shawna to wake me up for X-Files that night.:thumbs2:

Left Knee - In 4th grade i slipped in the jungle gym and my knee caught the metal corner of the platform and split it open. 8 stitches

Left Pointer Finger - Cutting a resin kit slipped and slit the side of the finger to the bone. Had to get 5 stitches. Did it about 4 years ago.

Left Pointer Finger - Working on a model at the age of 12 had another nice exacto blade moment cutting the top part of my finger.

Right foot - Lawn mower rolled over my foot when i was landscaping during my senior year in highschool. Wasnt wearing my steel tip shoes that day, so cut my boots and cut the skin only on top of my foot. From the pinky toe to the big to where the joints connect to your foot, skin was cut to the bone and pulled back to my ankle. Lucky for me i didnt cut my toes off or my bone. Best part about this one is i got my tetanus shot that morning. When i was drugged up the doctor didnt trust me in saying i had my shot that morning till he looked at my records. No stitches since it had to close and heal itself. So nice big scar there.

Left hand between the pointer finger and middle finger - back as a kid at the public swimming pool. Some girl i was friends with dug her nail into my hand so bad she slit it wide open. But as a dumb kid i just kept playing with a bloody hand.

Left for arm - Working at a kitchen in college a bucket was toppling over from the delivery guys onto the female worker. So as went to move her out of the way the top corner of the bucket decided to make a jagged cut there. So didnt heal very nice.

Few scars on my chest due to stupid tree climbing stunts as a kid.

I have a tiny scar above at he bridge of my nose from when I was in high school. I was taking out the trash when I saw a girl I had a major crush on. As I was walking the trash out, I was looking at her and walked into the light post in my front yard.

I sliced my thumb down the middle with a box cutter. Actually, the tendon in my thumb is still in half (not severed though).

Ugh if you saw it, you would puke. just imagine a open wound that had dirt and grass bits inside of it. They couldn't stitch it cause of how dirty it was and said it needed to clean itself out.

I fell down the stairs and hit my head on the radiator ot the bottom. Cracked my head open and it was bleeding loads but didn't go to hospital or anything.

Have never checked to see if it scared or anything though.
I cut my hand on a drinks can too but the scar is really faint

When I started this thread, it didn't occur to me that poeple would list every scar on their bodies...silly of me to overlook that one.

Here are more of mine:

1) Scar on chin from falling off my bicycle (I was about 7 years old) while trying to make a u-turn in the driveway and hitting my chin on the edge of the concrete.

2) Frankenstein-like scar through my left eyebrow that I got in 8th grade while playing keep away with a volleyball during recess. Jeff was hauling back to heave the ball and I was rushing forward to steal it from behind. He leaned back farther and faster than I anticipated and our heads collided. His head was shaped kinda like Namor's (triangular) and it split the skin on my brow line. Eight stitches, the day befoe class pictures, so the stitches are immortalized in my eighth grade pic and my classmates were calling me Frankenstien Jr.

3) Scar on my left pinkie from peeling potatoes with a hnad peeler too fast and not getting my fingertip out of the way. I was a junior in high school. Had band practice that night, and the wound opened up and I had blood running down my left forearm and dripping off my elbow. Still have the bloodstains in my guitar case.

4) Scar inside my chest from when my first gilfriend broke up with me...she broke my heart.

Scar IN my right eye (unnoticeable, thankfully) from taking those bozos on (what... a month or so ago?) on one of my studio jaunts in Seattle when they harrassed a girlfriend of mine at a dance club .. that's going to eventually require surgery to fix, no rush for now.

My right foot has an indentation on the bottom of it from pier-jumping, which is what you do to get out past the break of waves too high to swim over/duck-dive under - so like.. 10-15+ footers (if a pier's available). I either hit a rock or something similar as I actually touched bottom briefly.. (which shouldn't happen, but we think it's because the tide was lower than usual and the set was going out). It tickles when I use that foot for kicking when surfing.. haha. Euphoric, almost. My wife and the wives/girlfriends of my friends who join me have forbidden us from doing this after watching us do it a few times, but hahah.. yeah, THAT'LL stop us. :confused2

Probably numerous other ones, but those are the scars that stick out in my mind. :)

Lemme see:
1957 - hernia scar - 12 baby stiches
1961 - Christams Eve - fell with a cup of hot cocoa - 1st & 2nd degree burns on my hand, arm, face. 6 stitches inside, 12 stitches outside on my left thumb, from the broken cup.
1963 - 4 stitches two times from throwing rocks. Right forehead at hairline and one just above my left eye. Boyz will be Boyz.
1971 - stabbed with a 3" pen-knife by a would be mugger, 4 stitches in & out left elbow. Never saw him, just the knife. Someone yelled "hey kid watch out".
1977 - shot at by bad guys with shotgun, 3 small holes in right shoulder, 2 stitches each. Good thing it was birdshot. He's dead. I was a really bad person back then.
1979 - stabbed in throat by a bar patron (female) while bouncing. 6 stitches inside, 12 out. She's brain damaged, now or dead.
1980 - slashed in a bar room fight, left tricep/bicep 20 staples. He's dead.
1993 - stabbed by 2nd X-wife, left hand in web between thumb and forefinger, 3 stitches, right forearm 3 stitches, all from a butter knife and right shoulder blade - 4 prong fork holes. That was fun.
I always remember the bad things that have happened to me.

Left knee, three scars from knee surgery this past October........still can't kneel to give my kids a bath or sit for longer than 15 minutes.

Right arm, front site of elbow, was running on top of a fence and fell and jammed a three inch piece of wire in my arm where they draw blood.
