Shocking news. Really young age to go nowadays and seemed like a nice guy.

Wow, that's terrible. He was a great journalist and seemed like a truly good guy. I always enjoyed him on Meet the Press, and he was one of my favorites on election night coverage.

He'll be truly missed. He was taken too soon. Rest well, sir.

This was shocking to hear. He was such a great host of MTP and analyst for the elections and he seemed really excited about this one. A true loss to the profession.

One of the very few TRULY balanced anchors out there ... politics won't be the same without him. :(

His book "Big Russ and Me" had lots of touching moments (about him and his dad).

Odd, that the circumstances of his death remain unknown.

Yeah I was just trying to find out how he went and there's no info anywhere!

Tune in to FAUX Newz. They have the headine "apparent" heart attack. If it's on FAUX, it must be true [/sarcasm]

'Course with him collapsing at work, one can only assume that it was a heart attack. They probably want to wait for an official coroners report.

All I've heard so far was that he was at the NBC studios editing tape, collapsed, and died shortly thereafter. They're calling it a heart attack for now, which seems like a good guess.

Man, election coverage will never be the same for me. And I wonder if MtP will survive this? He more or less saved it from cancellation back in the 90s.

One of the few out there that would ask the tough questions on both sides. It seemed he had a love for his job as well family & life. RIP
