View Full Version : Chris Stevens Chun-Li Pin-Up!
As mentioned in my earlier post about Chris' amazing Ka-Zar pin-up, I also purchased from Chris the delightful Chun-Li pin-up he created for the Street Fighter Tribute book (scheduled for release in July at San Diego Comic Con). Apologies for the scan of the pencils, I'll have to see if I can darken the image.

The more I see of Chris' work, the stronger my feeling that he needs to be working on a regular title so that his talent can be recognised by more than just his fellow SF mates :) Best,

Very nice although IMO it would look better inked. Very hard to see the detail in the pencils.
Hey Bulls,
Glad you liked it :) Chris will likely chime in but I think he intentionally created the piece using very light pencils so that it would be open for colouring for the final version.
You can see a better scan of the pencils (although still not great) here - http://tinyurl.com/3vdnyr

Awesome looking piece. Maybe I can get him to do a Deathstroke for me.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Glad you're happy with it Royd. Do you have Photoshop, Royd? If so, I can give you an easy tip to make your scans darker without making them dirty. The original is a bit darker than it looks here.
Yeah, I like to use simple clean lines on stuff that I know will be "painted". It allows the colors to shine without getting in the way. I like to see the lines, but not in a way that they distract from the colors. I'm only talking about when I paint though. If it's a more comic style coloring, then I can use blacks and thick lines etc.

Wow! I love that!! Chun-Li rocks! :D
Hey Chris,
Only just realised you'd asked me about Photoshop. Unfortunately, I don't have Photoshop so my only option is to darken the scan and play with the contrast?
Sadly I no longer have a scanner at home so I use the one at work. Best,
Royd
