Angelina Jolie to star according to this article. I wonder who will play John Galt?

And Tom Cruise gets upstaged by Jolie. Very nice

What do you think about this? Do you think a movie can do this iconic story justice without overly dumbing it down? Does anyone have any more details?

They were going to do it in a trilogy, but the execs decided it could only be 2 1/2 hours - which is less time than John Galt's speech would have taken.

Unfortunately, it will fail miserably and Ayn Rand will roll in her grave.

A friend just sent me this:

A much better description of where the movie is at and where it is going.

I first discovered Ayn Rand through the dedication credit she is given on Rush's 2112 album. I tracked this down in High School and quickly read Anthem, The Fountainhead, and then Atlas Shrugged. Atlas Shrugged had a profound impact on shaping my world view, expectations on others, and expectations on myself.

Some books you picture being made into a movie. This is not one of them. I hope the either do a really good job, or kill the project.
