I may have an opportunity to pick up Treebeard for $450 from a guy in Dublin which means no shipping costs or no customs. Do you think this is a good deal or could i do better?

Where'd the $604 come from?

For $450 I think you should jump on it. Definitely worth it. This piece is heading straight up if you ask me.

Seems pretty high for that right now, but what would be the difference if you got it from the states? Would it end up costing you more with the vat and all that?

If i were to get this from the states at say $450 (dollars) the Irish government are going to hit me for an additional charge of 25% plus shipping is going to be over $100.

OK, I see now. That is high if you are just talking about the bust and not factoring in these other charges. Can you talk him down any to 400 euro or so?

I was thinking the $604 was high. But I'm thinking your right about this piece about ready to blow. Only a matter of time, he's a popular character and the bust/statue is simply awesome.

If i buy both busts I might get him down €50. I'll see.

Both busts? What's the other one? I don't think you mentioned it.

I think it's an ok deal for you.
I had to pay about $ 500.- for mine (customs, shipp, tax everything included). That was back then, directly from SS.

I say go for it.
Within another year this thing will be out of sight (I'm betting around $800-900) if not more.
Factoring in shipping anc customs your only looking at paying about 30-35 more than if you waited and bought one for the current going price on ebay.
Do it now!
I wish I had the chance to get one. There are none on ebay now from the US and it scares me to buy such a high priced item from overseas.

He's now got me in an auction wants €500 ($671). I've said €450 is my final offer and i want a deal on Aragorn. He says he has a buyer in Cork who will pay him in instalments.

I'd forget it then. Jacking up the price like that. You'll find another just don't wait too long.

Bulleye, there are two on ebay. One from Sweden and one from NZ,shipping might screw ya though. The one in Sweden was up for a while and didn't sell so the seller dropped the price down a bit(450 to 435).You could try to contact them and see if they will make a deal on it.The seller is a member of the "other" board I think.

Deals fallen through. He wants his extra €500 which is way over the odds. I will take the chance of shipping with a low insurance rather than pay that much. He also wants to put Aragorn up on ebay now even though he said he would accept €90 - €100. Sorry Sniper.

Cheers Boerboel, sent the guy in Sweden an email asking how much to ship to Ireland. See what he says.
