Hi guys,

below you will find some pictures of a statue which has become one of my Holy Grails very rapidly.
The statue is massive, impressive, detailed and a undeniable eye-catcher. I can't tell you how happy I am with this piece and since sometimes words just get in the way I will shut up and show you the pics.

A very powerful sculpt indeed. I love the T-Rex and Kong but Ms. Darrow looks like a toy doll.

I have to admit that Ms. Darrow does not look as overwhelming as the V. Rex or Kong. But then again I think she was not meant to look that way.

She may look a bit dolly-ish but because of that the brute strength and exciting presence of both Kong and T. Rex are highlighted even more. Besides, a women who looks like a doll might just be what Kong likes to see since he normally sees only ugly creatures like the T. Rex! :laugh:

I know exactly what you mean.... I have thought long and hard about the Eagle vs Fell Beast diorama and in the end decided against it since I do not have any room in my HT-room anymore to display such a huge piece properly.
I had space for one more big statue and I chose the V. Rex vs. Kong diorama.

Due to the fact that I have run out of space I am not able to buy any big statues anymore unless I would buy them and keep them boxed but IMHO that would be a waste in any imaginable way.

I wish I was a millionaire and could buy a big house with seperate rooms for my statues! :D

So heres my kong vs vrex story (its a little long)

I got one of these on ebay a few months ago, it was my grail for the longest time but the price tag kept me away(this was back when I refused to spend more than 200 bucks on a statue...now Im buying the cm predator haha)

The ebay seller had it listed for 130 dollars shipped(these guys retailed for like 500 new), and after some digging I decided they were legit.. the statue arrived with a small break tho :( Vrex's arm was hanging off... but it was a clean break I could fix.

I wrote the ebay seller, and they were so mad that it was broken they sent me ANOTHER ONE, and told me to keep the broken one.

So I sold the broken one, and kept the good one, and ended up getting one of my favorite statues for free! And a good friend got the other one and fixed it up good as new for a really good price.

Now I just want to paint the Darrow part. If I kept both i was going to re-sculpt kongs hand into a fist and paint the whole thing faux bronze.

Would it be possible for one of the mods to move this thread to the correct forum?

They had a bunch of those at WW Philly for $125 and I think by the end of the show they were tempting me by offering $25 off.
I had to pass. It's just too big for the amount of space I have right now. Plus, it's not a must have for me. Maybe someday when I have a collection room I'll snag one.

This was my first (and still best) Kong statue by far. Grail for sure! :buttrock:

This is the only Kong statue I have, and I think it's probably all I need Kong-wise. The piece is amazing and the picks just don't do it justice. The paint apps are amazing and the piece is massive (I've had to display it with a place for itself, which has usually been on top of my dresser). I purchased when prices dropped drastically. It's definitely more than worth what it's been going for.
