Was thinking of picking up a lens with good low light characteristics for indoor shooting with no flash.

Has anyone had experience with the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Autofocus Lens?

Any others I should look at?

Thank You

Ty

I have the 60mm 2.8. I have to use a flash indoors.

50mm f/1.4 is good. also check out the 85mm f/1.8 or 28mm f/1.8. these are all Canon. btw, i'm also a big fan of Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8. great wide angle lens!

This is my main lens for indoor shots. I have a good copy with no AF issues, its fast and reliable. I would probably buy the 50mm f/1.2L but I don't have the money for it. Its just marginally better between f/2 and f/2.8 and beyond that the f/1.4 is better(tested it) but is noticabely better below f/2 so if you need it...
I'd go into detail here but rather shoot me a message on mbozina@gmail.com if you wish further info.

Every single one, always!
Usually just camera raw since the camera doesn't do anything to the images which is the way I like it and sometimes photoshop, depends on what I want.

Thank you very much, I'd post more occasionally but I'm not a inanimate object photographer but a baby/maternity/child one and this isn't the forum for it but just a few more (which I'll remove soon, don't want to go off topic)since you have a kid close in age to my own. I'm working on my second at the moment.

Give hugs to Kaylee.

TNX but I don't think people would get into it much.
Besides I have hundreds of photos, which ones to choose :) and I noticed you mentioned you like wide angle shots so I'll post some of those if you wish.

P.S. Kids are my thing now so I never forget their names, adults yes but kids never :)

Thanks to Ed for the input and other options to look at and Upitnik for the 1.4 endorsement and the fantastic photos. I wasn't aware of an AF issue but I'll watch for it if I buy.

Thanks again

I'd give you a more detailed advice but you didn't state for kind of use you need it, which camera you have or will buy and which lenses you have so far.
There is much more to it.
