I posted some sketches I did of Lord of the Rings in the Sideshow section, a couple of days ago and figured they weren't comic art, but I recently did a piece that I figured would fit in well here. Just thought the rest of the forum members would like to take a look. This is DD Yellow, all done in charcoal on off yellow canson paper. He was fun to draw.

Thanks Bullseye. I wouldn't mind selling some, if anyone really was interested it'd be a great way to get my art out there and make some cash on the side. And I love taking ideas. I'm fond of my work but not so much that I wouldn't let go of it. But I wouldn't mind doing comissioned work. If you or anyone are interested in any, or in something more specific in the future, I'd do it, and if you like it then we'll go from there. I don't mind doing the work before asking for payment, I prefer having ppl see it done and want it then pay for something they might not like in the end. And it's always good practice for me anyways.

Ck, DFury, Sniper thanks! DD Yellow is also one of my top faves in the statues. I had fun drawing this, so there'll be more on the way! As well as other characters to, though I felt this character went well with the "old aged" look with the charcoal. Hopefully I'll have more this week.

This prolly should go under the same thread I had just created a while ago, but I figured if I just posted in there with this new piece, ppl would just think I'm responding and not come in to check and look at this. But Mods/members, if I'm posting too many threads on the same subject let me know or just delete it and I'll repost under the last thread I created.
Enough talk, I finished this piece a couple of mins ago, figured it would be a nice companion piece to the DD Yellow close up I did recently. This one is, as most can prolly tell, based off the full sized statue. I wanted to show more of him. This is quick sketch done on a 9x11 page, and the colour of it gives it a nice old newspaper look too it I think. Hope you guys like.

And like I said if this is one too many threads just delete. :) Thanks.

Very nice Ghost. You've certainly got DD down to a 'T'.

Thanks B. It's a shame I left his feet out lol Bad planning! I'll get back to you on the other DD later today. I'm going to have to ask you how your LotR prints were shipped to you so I have an idea of how they were packed. I know the post usually suggests what to use, but since you got yours from an artist's site, it would help knowing how they packed it up to ship out. PM me if you can.

I merged the two together.
I like the close-up. Very cool. Charcoal is messy stuff, which makes it all the more impressive.

Thanks Nbr, Df, Jdh! Charcoal is very messy especially the shoddy stuff I use, but if and when it works it looks great. Charcoal just makes a piece so much more artsy I think. You should have seen my hands and board at the end of that one!
