Hey new yorkers, could anyone here give me a list of decent sized comic and collectible shops in New York?

I know of Midtown Comics near Times Square and Forbidden Planet. Any others out there?

I would say Hanleys is probably the best. St. Marks is worth a look too. Also don't forget Midtown has two stores.

What's wrong with asking here so I can get stores that people have actually been to besides traveling to every small hole in the wall comic shop just to find the decently sized ones?

Anyways, thanks for the heads up on the shops, i'll check them out.

i dont like the city comic shops b/c i live in the bronx but you got midtown/hanleys/forbidden/st marks - but you have to pay tax and everything is slightly overpriced - there is a new hidden gem in the bronx people dont know about - its small but they have a better selection of collectibles than those big guys in the city - the shop is called The Lair -you wouldnt believe the amount of stuff this guy has in the shop - tons of bowen and sideshow pieces - i just picked up my blue quicksilver for 110 bucks & indiana jones pf for 225 that was cheaper than midtowns 25% off they had last week as a matter of fact this shop the lair is going to have a 40% off all bowen statues and 30% off other busts from sideshow and diamond select on xmas eve going to be nuts!!!!!!!!!!!i am going to rack up 40% off WWOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! again this shop is in the bronx - ithink they're the only ones in the bronx i guess you can message me and i can send you address

I know the one you are talking about... Its right off the corner of Morris Park... Been there once... Nice guy... but has his personal collection mixed in with stuff he is selling.

I do. When I was younger, my uncle would bring me to the store. I'd start downstairs with the action figures & back issues. Then go upstair for the new books. The new spot is OK, but they're stuff is overpriced.
