Judge Death is one of the 4 Dark Judges (Death, Fire, Mortis, and Fear). They came from a parallel dimension to Judge Dredd's world to kill everyone. Their reason is that, as all crime is committed by the living, life itself must be a crime...

These are perhaps the best Judge Dredd stories ever written, with spectacular art by Brian Bolland (of Batman: the Killing Joke). Even if you haven't read Dredd, I say pick this up!

I agree. I have many of these from when Eagle Comics used to reissue them in the 80's.
