Thanks Alex! I saw an Alan Davis drawing of The Spirit that I liked a lot and asked Chris to pay homage to it with these characters. I'm VERY happy with the results.

I have commissions from lots of artists and have to keep them in art portfolios... wall space is all too finite a resource in my Fortress of Attitude... but this baby's getting framed and going on display!

Chris, I just want to say thanks again. This is cover quality stuff and your attention to detail is so focused. From the wood grain on the pallet to to the lighting effect from the venom blast teaser, I'm out of praise-like adjectives for this... It's my favorite-est commission ever. :D

Werewolf By Night guest starred in Spider-Woman more than once and those issues really stand out in my mind. Jessica Drew's rougues gallery leaves an understated something to be desired, but you can't beat a werewolf!

Most of my Spider-Woman commissions have been the typical in-flight poses, with a few standing shots, and of course some wall-clinging designs... the fact that I get most of them at cons hasn't helped because time works against you at shows.

With this commission, I was hoping for something more than the usual pinup. Jessica Drew was supposed to be a detective and I wanted something that played up that angle.

I saw a pic the great Alan Davis drew of The Spirit and wanted to see Spider-Woman in the same pose, looking for clues, with a hint of her adversary somewhere in the background. Chris did the rest!

He roughed out a sketch and showed me the prelim before moving forward. How many artists give you that courtesy? Chris Stevens is the goods. :thumbs2:

Jack of Hearts..yeah, I don't know much of anything about this character, but he sure does have a wacky costume. Is that the appeal? Anyways, it should be an interesting piece to do.
