So yesterday my boss invited me to have dinner with the attorneys at a local steakhouse called "The Keg"

I get there and the first thing my boss does is have me order a cocktail. The dinner is on the atttorneys and they are prepared to impress.

I had two cocktails, wine to drink.

Fried Okra, Fried Calamari, a salad, some bruchetta, and some cocktail shrimp for appetizers.

Fillet Mignon with a twice baked potatoe and mushrooms for the main course, with some spinach, sweet potatoe fries, and asparagus for sides.

And for desert, a sampling of chocolate cake, carrot cake, cheesecake, miners pie, apple crisp, and key lime pie.

Man, I felt like a king!

Does Brian get to eat like this all the time on his firm?

I am attorney, but do not practice for the company I work with.

On top of that, we have a very strict ethics policy. No suppliers/vendors are allowed to pay for anything for us. If we allow them to, we will probably be fired.

If I'm on a trip I have a very small budget per day for food. Nothing fancy. It all ties into the company's mission and slogan.

Castle was actually pretty good. I won't say it's necessarily -fresh-, but I like the supporting cast, and Nate and his leading lady have some sort of chemistry that works. I'm gonna give it a couple more episodes before I cement any opinion.

On another note, my BBT geeks were awesome last night! I love episodes that focus on the nerds as a group of friends. It reminds me of my youth so much.

Well, malkii, I will be getting my very own MUPPET from F.A.O. Schwartz. They've got a deal with Henson's Muppet Workshop to market and sell Muppet Whatnots; those muppet 'extras' you see on Sesame Street, The Muppet Show, and other muppet-fueled entertainment!

I AM SO EXCITED. I've wanted an actual working muppet since...well, as long as I can remember.

I had to have a light breakfast today, then liquid diet from 11am until midnight tonight. After that I can't have anything until I'm in recovery. I'll be very dehydrated tomorrow. I drink a lot of water during the day, so none at all tomorrow is going to suck.

I've got 4 Sookie (True Blood) books, probably over 150 'new' comics to read, the uncut version of The Stand, and we have over 1,500 DVDs. I picked up the WW DVD this weekend to watch sometime later this week. I should be set to just lay around for awhile.

I talked my mom out of coming up tomorrow though. I know she means well, but Jason is taking off and I really don't want to have to keep her occupied. I'd rather just relax as much as I can with Jason and not have to worry with guests.

I just found out I got totally screwed out of my JLA Build-A-Scene Superman/Black Canary piece. The damaged piece was given back to the seller in January, and he hasn't done a thing to complete the claim with UPS. So I'm out my money for that and don't even have the damaged piece to get fixed. And I have a Red Tornado with a head and vortex, but no body.

You know, I really love Chris Claremont's work back in the day, but his latest stuff isn't that good. I'm having to push myself to get through his New Exiles (I'm reading the whole series as once, since I got the issues but didn't read them). That GeNext series he did was nonsensical, I didn't enjoy his last run of Excalibur (Magneto and Professor X on Genosha) and his Gen 13 run a few years back was just bad. His X-Treme X-Men was okay, at best. At this rate I'm not sure if I'm going to give his new X-Men that picks up where he left in the 90s a chance.

I told my mom something along those lines earlier, and she was a little shocked. Got a laugh out of it though. This thing is bleeding like heck though. Not excessive, but I've done a few bandages already.

He wants another crack at a Gamora. I was going to send her to Vince, since he loves the cosmic folks, and hot babes, but J. really did not like the one he did before and wanted to do one right. I figured I would give him the chance. I had some room in the box so I threw in the Lilandra MB. If I had more space Jesse's Starfire would have been in there as well. So I sent him a pair of cosmic chicks.

That leaves the Darkchylde FS, Starfire, Wildchild, and Santo here. I think I'm missing someone though...

My Rom FS should be done at the chromers in a week or so.

I was looking at my Alpha set today, and it's a really good overall set. It's a mix of Bowen, Diamond, and kits. I'm surprised that so many Alpha members have been put out.

I've got Guardian, Heather as Vindicator, Shaman, Puck, Aurora, Northstar, Snowbird, Snowbird Sasquatch, Jesse's Sasquatch (which is so cool), Marinna, and Wildchild. I need to get Talisman and then put them all in a group for a picture.

GREAT FIRST DATE LAST NIGHT!

i mean, i thought it was, but Muslim women go on more first dates than me.

he pinged me on FB chat at like 3 pm, "so what are you doing tonite?" if the question had been, "so what are you doing right now?" the answer would've been "screaming and wetting my chair." but i scrambled thru the rest of my work while making plans for the evening--got 2 tix to a B'way show and found a good pre-theater rest't that a friend always uses. then i RACED out of work at 4:30 because OF COURSE i dressed like a pothead college student yesterday--not particularly hot first-date clothes. Home, shower, dress, change, change, cologne, hair, out the door!

he was staying SO close that i could see the bldg from my bldg (like Sarah Palin & Russia), so we went into town together. he's a charmer and a cutie & i'm smitten as a kitten. and he sings!

we had a pretty good French bistro dinner & i chose a nice btl of dry red wine--i think Gigondas--and then we went to Guys and Dolls, which my friend was in. It was BAAAAAAAAAD, but Lauren Graham from Gilmore Girls can sing and looks great. Unfortunately the rest of it was like a community college production. We joked a little & occasionally squeezed the other's knee during the show.

then he suggested coffee & dessert back in our neighborhood, instead of more drinking in town, which was a good idea. we had some crazy banana-cheesecake-in-a-tortilla thing at a very fancy diner in our 'hood (finally he paid for SOMETHING) and we told each other stories & chatted. I walked him back to his friend's bldg (he's a touring musical-theater actor, so he has no proper home, poor puppy), and at the door he went in for a very, very nice, soft, pretty tame first-date kiss.

i am pretty happy. i knew everyone would be on pins & needles to know. :rolleyes: :D

he's in town for 4 more days & goes away again for a month to AD a show in CT. :banghead:

She's at the caster, he got a Vacume pot to cast the plasma funnel in clear ... but it's not going to be able to get done until after he moves down to Florida.

And now that I made a deal with Bullseye for the Spider-Woman, I want to have that one ready for Wonderfest.

Oh ... all the fixes on Raven are done, we just have to part the cape, mold it and she's good to go. :D

My boss just called. He's on his way over to visit. I'm a little out of it since I took the full dose of pain pills. I was on my way to sleep when the phone rang. I think the stuff from the surgury wore off and between that and going to the bathroom this morning I hurt. I also think I over did the walking last night.
