There's a story behind this unfinished painting by Ashley Wood -

http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o281/Royd2007/IMG_1256.jpg

At the time I acquired this painting, I was visiting Ash's home (he then lived 5 minutes away from my own home) and as I walked in, I observed him with a box cutter in his hands seemingly about to slice into the painting!

I immediately asked Ash what he was doing and he replied that he didn't like the painting but wanted to re-use the frame. I volunteered to take the painting off his hands to which he then responded by holding the box cutter closer to the painting and asking me what I would be willing to give for it.

I asked Ash what he would be willing to accept for the painting and he said "your Howard Chaykin Kiss comics"! I immediately said "Done!" and soon after traded the comics for the painting. It was the only piece of Ash's art that I had to "pay" for as he has been a very generous friend over the years :)

Just thought I'd share the story because I was recently asked to get a better scan of the painting for my CAF gallery. Best,

Royd

That's a beaut! I wonder what it would've looked like if it had been finished...

You got jipped, Royd. You could've just smashed him in the back of the neck with a chair when he wasn't looking and ran off with it for free! Could've even taken the frame! Now, you're short those comics. You're such a softy.

That's a great piece!

LOL, if you ever meet or see Ash in person you'll realise that he's a very large and imposing individual and I wouldn't want to mess with him :)

Glad you liked the painting! Best,

Royd

I should have mentioned in the post that the characters featured in the painting are from Ash's own creation (which have not seen print) called "White Tracers" :) Best,

Royd

Leveling (http://www.thewowgold.net/powerleveling.php) can be done efficiently, and hassle free if you know what you are doing. In this article, some experience will be shared with you, which will enable you to have a better idea of leveling (http://www.thewowgold.net/faqs/World-of-Warcraft-Leveling-Tips.html). Here are five simple tips on how you can faster level up your characters (http://www.thewowgold.net/faqs/World-of-Warcraft-Leveling-Tips.html) and its easy to implement right away. 1. Use the quest helper mod. It is possibly the most important mod you will need for leveling up faster as it shows you exactly where you need to go to complete your quests. With a quest mod, you don’t need to alternate tab out of your game screen to view thottbot and spend minutes to type in the quest name and locate the area on the map. 2. Begin with quests that are nearest to you. There are many people who seem to do quests that are on another continent then do those that are surrounding you, if you are one of them, just change now. 3. Get high level gamers to power level you in higher level instances. For example if you are level 20, get someone that is at level 80 to bring you through an instance that is meant for level 30. By doing this, not only will you get more experience but you will get a lot of items as it only all belongs to you. 4. Don’t work on professions till you hit the maximum level. Professions are the most tedious and time consuming things you will ever need to do. Not only does it take up lots of time, it also drains a lot of your money. By ignoring your profession while leveling, you can easily add 3-10 hours to your leveling time. You can always concentrate on your profession once you have hit the maximum level. 5. Don’t PVP. Many of the times, those arenas or battlegrounds can be very attractive, the more you spend PVP, the more time you will be stuck at your level. So unless your objective is not to level up quickly, you had best stay away from battlegrounds! Hope these pieces of information will give you a hand in your game play. Wish you good luck.Cheap wow gold (http://www.thewowgold.net/) and fast wow power leveling (http://www.thewowgold.net/powerleveling.php) here>>

I hate to derail a thread from WOW tips, but that Ashley Wood painting is awesome! One artist's trash is a collector's dream. ;)

Baned after 1 post...is that a record?

Royd, if he's a big dude, that's all the more reason to wait until he's NOT looking before you brain him with the chair. Come on man, I can't be giving you all this free advice.

Even though I used to play WOW online for the better part of a year, I'm pleased to see him banned - if only the post could be deleted.

And thanks for the helpful hint mate ;) I'll try to use my ninja skills and take him out before he even knows I'm there! :) Best,

Royd
