Black Bolt Phase III?

I wonder if a resculpt of Black Bolt with wings will make the next phase.

If so, I hope he gets to wear his royal crown this time.

Also, the Inhumans really do need their own villain, so I say bring on Maximus.

I had ample oppertunity to buy 1 at retail cost and, as much as I love the character, I could not do it. If I had known that Bowen was going to do all the Inhumans I *MIGHT* have bought it, but would still have been unhappy w/ it and wanted a better verion.

There is no way in hell you can compare Black Bolt to Spidey and Wolvie... There are only a handfull who want a resculpt of BB... Spidey and Wolvie generate a lot of $$$ thats why they can have 1,000 different sculpt of them...

CK13, once again you dismiss anyone who wants something you don't because they didn't like the initial sculpt. Get it through your head, a lot of people (INCUDING RANDY BOWEN HIMSELF), were not happy with the Phase 1 Black Bolt bust. It is not about price. I actually bought the first bust at retail price and simply didn't like it, so I traded it in at my LCS. There were a few Phase 1 busts that just didn't measure up, including Thor, Hulk, BB, Hawkeye, and GR. The fact that some of these are expensive on the secondary market doesn't help, but it's certainly not the primary reason for wanting re-do's.

Don't get hot under the collar. Just stating that there are more reasons than price to want a new sculpt. Not comparing the characters, just the fact that there are multiple bust of many characters, some to an almost ridiculous level, and no one seems to care. But if a expensive sculpt is asked to be done again, people think the price is gonna drop and their collection will suffer.

The fact is, if I found the Black Bolt bust for $10 I would still not like it. I would probably but it for $10 but when a better version came along, I would replace it.

Now, sorry if I offended. Go grab She Hulk's bust on me...I mean one of She Hulk's bust...I mean...Doh!

I'd also love to see BB redone with the arms and wings. I passed on the original because I just didn't like the pose and the fact that he's BLACK bolt, not Blue bolt. A new bust would be great but news of a FS would be cool too.

I beg to differ Brian. While I agree that some Ph I busts are in want of something, I think Hulk, Thor, and BB are all some of the best pieces to date. Admittedly, they are all relatively simple sculpts, but I think each one captures the ESSENCE of the character perfectly. A lot of times, more complex or eye catching sculpts can conjure a more vivid image, but the essence of the character can be lost. I really enjoy these three busts, and although I do not own any of them, one day I would very much like to have all three.

In fact, I think BD's Phase I Hulk and THor busts are the best versions of either character put out in bust form to date. IMO, of course.

The "looking up a guy's nostrils" pose just bugs me, and since this is one of my favorite Marvel characters, I was really hoping for a re-sculpt. If it doesn't happen, I guess I can live with the first bust, but the fact that Randy had mentioned redoing it got me pumped, and then when a lot of guys dumped all over the idea I just got a little annoyed. The other bust that I really disliked from Phase 1 was Hawkeye, and I don't seem to be alone on that one, so hopefully he will get redone. I don't want a lot of re-sculpts, but some characters just need it.

I think the only bust that really needs a re sculpt is the Medusa.

Now I have never followed the Inhumans closely at all. But if BD gave the same treatment to BB and his group in FULL SIZE STATUE form, as he did with the Fantastic Four (maybe even interlocking bases?), I would go for it, assuming high statue sculpt quality....

Confessor- me, too. If Randy gave the Inhumans the FS treatment then I'd be inclined to buy them. I almost don't see the sense of doing a FS Black Bolt unless other FS Inhumans were to follow. Does anybody think there's a chance we'd see other FS Inhumans besides Black Bolt?

I could honestly see a Medusa FS hitting the shelves before Black Bolt. She was always more of a player in the Marvel Universe anyhow...heck, she even replaced Sue in the FF for a good portion of the early 70's. In addition, she would make one lovely piece of work, and I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Hey, to each his own. I can't blame you for wanting more if your fav character isn't personally satisfactory. Imagine how I've been feeling waiting for this blasted tiger stripe Wolverine bust! I don't really think anyone should be resculpted, but I admit that there are some characters who could have been handled a little better and I think we agree that Hawkeye is the perfect example. My train of thought is this though: instead of redoing a bust, if the character doesnt have a fullsize and is worthy of one (BB, Hawkeye, etc), then just make a SWEET FS. I know this isn't necessarily that appealing to bust collectors, but it seems to me to be the best use of time/resources, and this is all important as I promise PH III will have come and gone before anyone realizes it.

In response to more recent posts, I love how the Inhuman family of busts turned out as shown on BD's site (group pic). However, I think this group plays to a relatively small market, and the it would be hard to get people to buy full sizes of Karnak and Gorgon and Triton, etc, especially at $150 a piece, regardless of how great the group dynamic would look.

A Black Bolt statue would look cool with all the Inhumans busts around him. One full-size statue to represent the Inhumans corner of the Marvel Universe would be a nice and fitting touch - after all, Black Bolt was frequently used on house ads along with the other icons of the 60s Marvel Universe yet to be sculpted; Dr Strange, Nick Fury, Captain Mar-Vell and Ka-Zar. Bring them all on and complete the definitive Silver Age Marvel set!

Yes I'm all for a Black Bolt full size - but as already mentioned, I think the rest of the inhumans (bar Medusa) might be a too obscure to warrant a full size - would the likes of Karnak, Gorgon, Triton, and Lockjaw sell out?...I'm not too sure...

If its a Randy Bowen special, I would buy a Black Bolt full size.

We also need a Maximus bust - At the moment, my Inhuman collection is sitting rather too smugly for my liking!

This goes against my grain because I have always been a proponent of the obscure characters of the MU but I don't think I would really like to see Randy's creative juices focused on retreading subject material he has already done. I'm not a kiss a$$ but I like all the stuff BD has put out even the ones that come up on peoples redo list. I would much prefer Randy create new characters instead. I think Black Bolt is fine with just the bust. It is what got me into this racket. I can easily supply a list of characters that could either be busted or FS'd instead of Black Bolt. Just PM me.

I didn't mind the first Black Bolt mini bust (although I would have preferred it having wings like the Falcon), but it is just too expensive for me to buy, and so is a full size statue. That's why I was kind of hoping there would be a new Black Bolt mini bust. I can understand why a lot of people want new characters (I do too, particularly Havok and Jack of Hearts), but I think there are also a number of earlier busts that should be re-done.

The only busts that I can think of that really need a rescuplt is: a new rogue (short hair), storm (mohawk, punk chick), hawkeye (cause I think he looks like the guy that played 40 yr old virgin), and a new green hul with a head that better fits the body (not saying first one was bad just seemed a little off to me). Other than that put out some new sculpts and new characters! JMO.
