Squider's Maui Vacation!

Went to Maui for a nice little vacation and took a lot of pics. Thought I would post a few of my favorites. Enjoy!

Haleakala Crater at 4:00 in the morning. It was absolutely freezing (and that's coming from a Canadian) but absolutely worth it for these pics.

Where did you stay?

The big camera can be such a pain in the @ss...but so glad I took it on this trip. We stayed in Kihei but went to pretty much every part of the island. Lahaina was cool, lots to do there.

I have to agree, most vacations by the end I'm ready to go home but Maui was sad to leave and the time went by way too fast. I'll definitely go back SOON.

I shot all of these with a Nikon D3 with either the 24-70mm or 20-200mm VR lenses.

No, we didnt'. Decided to pack the camera and go for the shots instead. Saw a group as we were coming down, looks like fun for sure.

No, I don't have a flickr account but I have seen my pics posted in places I wasn't aware of. Oh well, once on the internet, they're pretty much fair game, time to start watermarking everything.

Ah thanks for the info. Weird because a few days ago I checked this guys stream and he had a few pictures similar to your first page pics (your statue collection). He's also from Canada...

Your pictures look amazing. I especially like the shots at Kapalua. My best friend lives a couple of miles away. We used to go body surfing a lot while I was growing up there.

The two lenses I had on the trip were the Nikon AF-S 24-70mm Nikkor F/2.8 and AF-S 70-200mm VR Nikkor F/2.8.

The pic quality is just as good but there is some vignetting on the 70-200mm when zoomed. The VR makes up for it though as I was shooting from choppers, boats and buses.:)

You should join Flickr Squider, it is actually a lot of fun. I started watermarking my pics when after I saw them on an eBay auction. :rolleyes2
