Hi everyone,

I was curious about sculpting classes/lessons. I would like to learn more about sculpting, and thinking about hands on workshops/classes. I have been researching about this, and seems like I should start with Clay sculpting, am I correct? and I guess, I could transition to whatever materials that I want once I get a hang of it. My plan is to be able to create resin kits (that's my ultimate goal). Any suggestion? or should I just get books and watch videos to get this done.

Also, anyone is in Los Angeles to recommend this sculpting lessons?

thanks

Here's what I did:

1. Join online forums such as this one. You'll get the basic information you need by searching through their archives.

2. Get some sculpting videos. You will refer to them time and again for tips, technique and short cuts.

3. Look for sculptor's websites. They often have tuts and/or links to very useful stuff.

Good luck!

Thank you Rite,

As far as the videos, I was curious if he covers the beginner/novice skill as I am just starting.

Thanks

capt_marvel, just buy the John Brown video (at the gnomon workshop store), you won't be dissapointed, despite de fact that he does almost all of his work in chavant, all of his tips and tricks are usefull in almost any material you can think, i f you want a freebie first, just look for his videos in youtube, you will be surprised, (i learned to make silicone rubber molds from his dvd, it was awesome!) cheers.
