Published art work will always go for much more. Most collectors view commissions and convention sketches as glorified autographs.

Definately, don't get me wrong I love getting commissions and sketches. We have a huge sketch book that we bring to conventions and it is one of primary reason I go. I was just agreeing with Leroy comments that published pages will always command a premium and often it is very difficult to recoup the value of a commission if you plan on selling them. The sketches we get also have a lot of sentimental value though.

The Witch is nice but Perez sells full size figures for $150.00. Which is still high in my book, but I bought a four hero piece a few years ago and he still owes me a couple of really cool commissions. A Zauriel with flaming sword and modern or current day Black Knight on winged hourse and a multihero piece. I think it's crazy how much single charicter drawings have went up over the years. I remember buying a Hercules drawing from Bob Layton for $15.00 or $20.00 at my first con. And in 96 I bought a eight hero piece from Perez for only $100.00 Of course they were large head shots but still it was a great deal.

By the way. $150.00 per charicter is high but I still paid it for the two commissions I'm waiting on. A price might be high but it doesn't mean you won't get it. I love Perez art. If it where a Hal Jordan or Perez Zatanna I'd be all over it. :)

150.00 for a full figure from perez isnt hi at all. these guys put a lot of wrok into their art. check out any artist and 9 out of 10 charge around 150.00 for a full sketch without backgroun.besides george does cons and charges that price also because very cent goes to a charity. like at pitt this year it all went to make a wish foundation
