How do you make the connection/construction of separate arms/legs on an armatue or statue??

Hiya. Do a search here and at the clubhouse. I have posted similar questions.
Depending on what clay/sculpy you are using there is a multitude of options. John brown (uses Sulfur free clay) uses some square brass tubing in his armature at the shoulders /head and sometimes the legs if need be. This allows him to separate the pieces for casting. I have seen others use a dremel to cut baked sculpy and then form a joint between the two pieces.
