Please if somebody knows what machine is that, I would like if you could give me that information !!! I know it is a kind of chamber to put pressure in the resin ... but what is the name of this machine and where do I get one for me ???? I know that Martin Canalle has one on his studio( those pictures are from his site )

I cast resin myself too and I just have purchased a Vacuum Chamber that cost me $ 2500, but when I saw him using that one to cast resin I realize that maybe I bought the wrong machine !!!! :banghead: :banghead: !!!

No problem with that since the Vacuum chamber is perfect to make the molds with silicon, But this keeps me where I started ... Looking for a better way to cast resin !!!!

Please somebody tell me how to get one like that !!!!

Arahom, why don't you just e-mail Martin? I'm sure he would be more than happy to help you. If you can't find his e-mail on the Gore Group web site let me know and I'll see what I can do.

You should prolly email Helder too just to make sure, most of us here don't know squat, and then there's alot of us that just sculpt but still have no clue about the casting process. So your chances are slim with us, but all you can do is wait to see if someone does bring along the right answer.

Might be a nice place to store your cryogenically(sp?) frozen head. WE can put you up on the shelf next to Ted Williams. But I'm not sure if the chamber is big enough, you have a fat head.

Its a pressure chamber but it can also be used as a vacuum chamber. All you need is the valve that can reverse the itnake of air and you can use it for both pressure casting and vacuum degassing...

I'm pretty sure Martin uses it for both.... give him some time as he's really busy.

$2500??? I hate to say it, but you spent WAY too much money my friend. A pressure pot, vacuum pump, and air compressor are all you need to make excellent quality resin casts (and air-free silicone molds). Heck, some folks even get by with only the pressure pot and compressor (no vacuum pump).

I bought my pressure pot here (I recommend the 5-gallon model):

http://www.finishsystems.com/resincastingpressurepots.html

I put together an entire moldmaking/casting setup for about $500 to $600, which includes all the equipment I mentioned above.

Best of luck!

Well, I can keep it to cook some delicious lobsters... but I think I will send it back to the store that I bought from !!!

The guy charged me $ 800 and some bucks for an "air pump" , besides the Chamber itself is too big and doesn't fit on my kitchen !!!!

Wow $800. And will he refund you? What was it anyway?

Air pump is the opposite of an air compressor !!! It's a kind of Vacuum cleaner !!! But a little bit more expensive ....
It is used to take the air out of the chamber !!!

They will refund me, I already spoke with them and it's all set ... I will just loose the ship cost !!! Well better this than loose the total amount !!!

Thanks anyway !!!! I already got one for me yesterday !!! A 10 gallon size... I think it will be enough to my molds, since I have big molds and a 5 gallons one would not fit for all my molds !!!

thanks guys ... :buttrock: :buttrock:

Okay, I'll dispell the mystery... It's a pressure pot. I made my own, for about $100.00.

Cheap, and easy to make if you know what you're doing.
