I just ran out of turpenoid, what can I use as a sub to smooth out my sculpey?

Isoprpyl alcohol will work. I think lighter fluid as well but I think it's pretty aggressive so don't quote me on that.

Is that the same as paint thinner or tuprentine?

I thought it was some weird alien submersible vehicle! Shows you what I know about sculpting! LOL!

I've had great results with the isopropyl alcohol. You can get varying strengths for proportional variations in smoothing.

I know the really potent stuff (99%) can and will strip paint and is really aggressive but I think it comes in 97% and I think 92%. There's also just plain old sculpey softener.

I stuck with a 70% concentration and it worked real well for making skin textures and doing general clean up work, i.e. getting rid of fingerprints and the like.
