In Florida, it is illegal for women to fall asleep while under a hair dryer in a hair salon and if you are an unmarried thrill seeker, you had better go someplace else because unmarried women cannot skydive on Sundays in Florida either. it is illegal to tie an elephant to a parking meter, unless the normal parking fee is paid

A woman in Memphis, Tennessee is not allowed to drive a car down the road without a man walking in front of her and carrying a red flag to warn other drivers.

http://www.main.com/~anns/other/humor/sillylaws.html

in New York it is illegal to walk around on Sundays with an ice-cream cone in ones pocket. it is considered misconduct for one to greet another by placing their thumb to their nose and wiggling their fingers. it is illegal to throw a ball at someone's head for fun

in texas it is illegal to milk someone else's cow, or shoot a buffalo from the second story of a hotel. the entire Encyclopedia Britannica is banned because it contains a formula for making beer at home. criminals are required to give their victims 24 hours notice, either orally or written, before committing a crime

in Alabama, driving a car without shoes is illegal. it is illegal for a husband to beat his wife with a stick larger in diameter than his thumb, it is illegal to flick boogers into the wind

Iv always loved this design from the film but how dissapointing this is. At 6" long it is far too small as were the Rodger young and the stargate ships It seems to be the trend at the moment. And yet still very expensive for the size and very simple detailing..... Id love to see these ships done on a larger scale.

Reading posts that show people care have helped a great deal. I can honestly say that I've never been more terrified than those few days after I got my diagnosis. It really doesn't matter if you're told it's a malignant freckle that just, needs to be lopped off or end stage leukemia, cancer is scary in any form, and it can drag you down and drown you if you're not careful. It's been really nice to read that there are people rooting for me.

Thanks again, you guys are the best. :)

Cross Examination

A defense attorney was cross-examining a police officer during a felony trial - it went like this:

Attorney: Officer, did you see my client fleeing the scene?

Officer: No sir, but I subsequently observed a person matching the description of the offender running several blocks away.

D.A.: Officer, who provided this description?

Officer: The officer who responded to the scene.

D.A.: A fellow officer provided the description of this so-called offender. Do you trust your fellow officers?

Officer: Yes sir, with my life.

D.A.: With your life? Let me ask you this then officer. Do you have a locker room in the police station - a room where you change your clothes in preparation for you daily duties?

Officer: Yes sir, we do.

D.A.: And do you have a locker in that room?

Officer: Yes sir, I do.

D.A.: And do you have a lock on your locker?

Officer: Yes sir.

D.A.: Now why is it, officer, if you trust your fellow officers with your life, that you find it necessary to lock your locker in a room you share with those same officers?

Officer: You see sir, we share the building with a court complex, and sometimes lawyers have been known to walk through that room.

The courtroom erupted in laughter, and a prompt recess was called.

Now THAT's what I call a comeback !!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Pumpkin Patch

Washington Post article... the title of the article was "Best Comeback Line Ever."

In summary, the police arrested Patrick Lawrence, a 22-year-old white male, resident of Dracula, GA, in a pumpkin patch at 11:38 p.m. on Friday.

Lawrence will be charged with lewd and lascivious behavior, public indecency and public intoxication at the Gwinnett County courthouse on Monday.

The suspect explained that as he was passing a pumpkin patch he decided to stop. "You know, a pumpkin is soft and squishy inside and there was no one around here for miles. At least I thought there wasn't," he stated in a phone interview.

Lawrence went on to say that he pulled over to the side of the road, picked out a pumpkin that he felt was appropriate to his purposes, cut a hole in it and proceeded to satisfy his alleged "need."

"I guess I was just really into it, you know?" he commented with evident embarrassment. In the process, Lawrence apparently failed to notice a Gwinnett County police car approaching and was unaware of his audience until officer Brenda Taylor approached him.

"It was an unusual situation, that's for sure," said officer Taylor.

"I walked up to (Lawrence) and he's...just working away at this pumpkin."

Taylor went on to describe what happened when she approached Lawrence.

"I just went up and said, 'Excuse me sir, but do you realize that you are screwing a pumpkin?'

He froze and was clearly very surprised that I was there and then looked me straight in the face and said:

"A pumpkin? Damn...is it midnight already?"

At the end of last month / beginning of this month I bid on and won two Ebay auctions. To date I haven't received either item.

The first item was shipped by recorded delivery over 5weeks ago. When I emailed the seller asking for tracking details, he responded promptly and sent me the number. After a while I contacted him again to let him know that the item hadn't been received, and if we could arrange a replacement or refund. He asked me to wait 15 working days and contact him again if it hadn't arrived. Well, those working days have now long passed. I contacted him but got no reply. Two days went and still no reply. There may be a valid reason for his lack of resonse, but he was very prompt in answering emails before, now he's gone to ground. So I open a dispute a couple of days ago.

The second item was sent by standard post four weeks ago. I contact the seller and she asks me for the date that I paid. I sent her an email saying that she should have this info already, but told her I paid immediately on the day bidding ended. She then replies the next day asking for my name and address! Surely she should have all this information to hand?

In any case, I also opened a dispute as I feel she is just wasting time.

Since opening the disputes there has been no contact from either seller. It's been a couple of days now, but I wondered what would be an appropriate time to allow them to repsond before escalating it to a claim? I'd rather they contacted and worked with me to resolve the problem, but if they choose to ignore me then I'll have no choice.
