Profit Margins for manufacturers?
Hello not so sure if this is the right place to ask but I have this homework my topic is figurines. I was wondering about the profit margins of companies, so far as far as I know it's typically made in China to be specific Guangzhou. And since most of them are pre-order the manufacturer doesn't really lose much unless no-one pre-orders but at least they don't manufacture if it doesn't meet quota. So the risk isn't really high depending on licensing cost. But I just had to ask, assuming the company gets a certain percentage of the profit + royalty fees for the author. What makes figurines so expensive if they are made in bulk in China. I'm not talking about the GSC nendroids so what's with the mark-up is plastic expensive? (Or is the percentage between the company and figurine manufacturer so bad which makes the manufacturer jack up the prices)?
