2015 art resolutions

Well, we are now in December and 2015 is nearly upon us, so I ask again this year: what are your 2015 art resolutions?

I'd like to score a Sean Murphy this year..!

I'd like to stop getting derailed with awesome statues instead of art. That's looking promising since all I have on the docket is the XM Phoenix.

So hopefully I can get some new art in 2015! Artists TBD

i stopped getting statues after getting my grail statues and having to move with them. those pesky things are a pain in the @$$ to move with!

My big goal which I have to make happen is a commission piece from Mark Brooks.

for now my 2015 goals are:

- close out my open commissions.
- blue line ink some of my pencil only pieces.
- knock out some more jams.
- try and get at least 2 commissions from my 'to get' artist list.
- hit up my local cons, the big ny cons and maybe a road trip con.

Excellent question. Not sure I have any resolutions going into the new year, but definitely will need to ponder my goals. Some of you know that I retired and moved to North Carolina which puts me in a better art purchasing position given the lower cost of living here. What I do know is that I will (1) continue to support charity auctions; (2) attend at least c2e2, Heroes (duh), SDCC, Boston Con, and NYCC; (3) sell off some of my comic and art collections; and (4) hopefully continue to meet up with board members at various shows.

I am pretty much out of the comic art game for now. Not sure what my goals are. Going to try to hit Planet Comicon here in Kansas City in March, but beyond that, I have no plans to purchase art.

I'm lucky that I don't have many statues. My statues are only of those characters I have deep affection for -- so I have plenty of Storm statues

My must have list only consists of -- Phoenix (check!), Rogue, Storm (XM style), Wonder Woman (check) and She-Ra (praying PCS makes her!!)


If I make it back into the art game in 2015 I hope I can try out NYCC. It will be a mad house, but at least I can do something new. Either NYCC, C2E2 or Heroes. That seems to be my only shot at getting on Mark Brooks list.

2015 Goals:

This is all dependent on what gets uncovered during the year.

The goal is to only pick up published pieces that are "A" list to me personally (B list if they're cheap enough). In 2014, an ungodly amount came out of the woodwork. I'm praying for drought in 2015. I'd rather pick up 10 published pieces at most. Got a few key things I'm looking to get but all are unrealistic long shots.

I want to focus on commissions instead. One based on a favorite mini series, the rest based on Valentino's GOTG. Would like to get several new ones, and maybe get a few old ones modified.
