Hmm I've been to too many shows to remember, but as far as recent, I know The Black Keys are great live, so are The Libertines, oh and the Dresden Dolls are amazing live.

The consistently best live band I have seen is Rush.

The three single best shows I have ever seen:

3) Steely Dan reunion tour before they put out their first new studio album in years

2) Genesis in the 80's on their 3 Sides Live tour.

1) Elton John - I saw him on a solo tour where it was just him and the piano for the first half and him and a percusionist for the second half. He played for over 3 hours and was the single most phenomenal show I have ever seen.

They Might Be Giants - helluva live show. Seen 'em twice and would go again. I have never seen audience participation like that at a show, it's like one big party.

I've seen many bands from Dire Straits to Rolling Stones to U2 and then Metallica, Anthrax and on and on but my absolute favourite ever show was AC/DC. Best live band ever IMO.

A friend I used to work with many years ago gave up his legal career to write. When his first novel (a mystery) was published They Might Be Giants played at the book party. It was a pretty cool evening.

I couldn't possibly answer this question. Over the past 30 years I have been to many memorable concerts from Don McLean introducing American Pie in a high school auditorium concert to Led Zeppelin at Madison Square Garden, to The Stones at the Palladium, to Pink Floyd's The Wall to The Who to.....I could go on for hours. Somewhere I have the ticket stubs to every concert I have ever attended starting back in 1970. I've got to find that box someday.

One that may surprise - Los Lonely Boys were totally amazing live.
"How Far is Heaven" was the LEAST of their amazing set, including guitar solos and
instrumentals the likes of that I'd never seen before. Comparable to Jimi Hendrix.

One that was surprisingly bad was Collective Soul. No problems, just no "energy" or
something...... Something was missing. Great songs, many hits, just not "inspiring" live.
