I actually PM'd d rod a month ago about this issue. He replied saying that he informed the webmaster about it, but seems like the webmaster hasn't updated the site.
Here's the message I sent:
I was hoping you could fix an issue with the image resizer plugin I noticed.
It works if you access the site through HTTP, but not through HTTPS, which is now the default for modern web browsers.

Notice that the image resizer plugin is specifically using the HTTP protocol, while the other scripts are just calling the paths:
