The Spirit

Wow this movie sucked. It was borring, and very cheezy.

I knew nothing of the Spirit going in. Other then it was created by Will Eisner. It is a comic that creators love to suck it's ass. But comic collectors did not buy. That's pretty much all I knew. I got the autograph poster from the actors at comic con. I thought the preview looked terrific. I was very interested in seeing the movie. I really wanted to like it, and thought it would be good. I just got back from it. I had maybe 4 minutes of pleasure through out the whole movie. I thought about getting up and leaving several times. After the climax of a superhero movie there is a little down time before it ends. I did not stay for this. Once the climax was over, I got up and left.

This is a movie I will not buy, I will not rent, and I will tell everyone who does not believe that it sucks not to waist there money.

You need a new date Mike, if you only got 4 minutes of pleasure during the movie.

Thanks for the heads up on this. Will pass until the DVD comes out, and then give it a try.

What was wrong with it exactly?
Why would you tell people not to "waist there money"...??

Well I would tell you not to eat at a restaurant I got sick at too. Don't waist your money means: I wish I could get my $6 and my 100 minutes back.

You actually want me to get into story details of why I did not like it. OK...

It's starts out very borring with him explaining how it's his city. It then has a fight scene with him and the Octopus. Again the dialogue is very cheezy. They are fighting in a swamp, and they keep finding bigger things to hit each other with. Very lame... Then everything looks like it's 1920 but they have cell phones. I don't really care about that but it's sticking out in my mind now.

You know I could critique the movie bit by bit. But if I am sitting through a movie bored to death, wishing it was over. What more do I need to tell myself I waited my time.

The colors are very nice in the movie, and they would make great still pictures. The movie is pretty, and so are the people. It's just cheezy, and borring in a bad way.

The plots are different yes. I really enjoyed Sin City. I had not read those books either. I have watched Sin City 5 times, and I still like it.

This is a comic book movie, so you guys are all going to see it anyways. All I can say is I was not satisfied.

Just cuz it's a comic movie, sure doesn't mean I will see something.

Vast majority of reviews are bad, trailer for this looked bad as well.

Easy decision to skip this.

Too bad for Miller's directing debut, but they all can't be winners. Between the high ticket costs and hassle of going out to see movies, I want at least a good shot at a good experience.
