New Achilles 1/4

A new Achilles from ARH in a more action pose...but I think there isn't something new and refreshing here although still WIP.
I don't mean the sculpt don't get me wrong but overall I see something which does not inspire..not me at least.

I am also sick of Pitt's likeness and armor. Please stop this! The movie "Troy" is an insult to basics of history

Anyway I would like to read opinions because I don't like the overall inspiration of this statue and I may have missed something...don't know maybe I am wrong but I was expecting more from the creators of the awesome Medusa and Athena.

That's my point. He may be better than the other two but once again it's the same "Brad Pitt" in another stance. I was expecting a totally different interpretation and more glorius for this great warrior.

Anyway, waiting to see it finished so as to be more fair.

Yes and I think Alexander from the other hand will be really "Great"! In fact it will be an epic statue.

I never understood that myself. Wasn't Troy one of the biggest movie flops ever? They sold though, the original pieces. Must be a lot of Brad Pitt fans out there. I agree with you, I would like to see something more creative, like the Ares and Athena pieces.

I may have been one of the few that enjoyed Troy, not for its historical accuracy, but its entertaining value.

Anyway, this is what Arahom has to say and I really can't argue with that. Not much to go off of about Achilles and how he looked in life! Hell, to be honest, I thought it he was just a created mythological character for the story.

Learn something new every day!

"I know some of you were waiting for a more historical depiction, but after much thought, I realized that there isn't a recognizable historical image of Achilles, and the movie Troy is what we have the best in terms of Achilles, so I decided to stay truthful to our previous designs and not stray away from it.

I made some changes that I considered pertinent, but in my view this is the best way to depict the Mighty Achilles without copying the movie Troy."
