Informative Or Passive Aggressive?
I prefer signed for upon delivery or tracking.
If there is an issue, I know as a buyer seller has shipped the goods or if it's stuck in transit.
As seller I know buyer is not bull----ting if buyer say goods are not delivered. Win win.
My question as buyer.
"Hi.
Could you please tell me if shipping to Denmark includes tracking or
a signature upon delivery?
I prefer if either or both is available it
makes shipping safer."
Answer
"Most likely no. It would cost about twice as much to ship this with fed-ex with tracking as shipping by the postal services without.
Since the cost of lost packages is born by the seller there is a small amount of fraud in shipping to countries without tracking.
With Canada, prior to the the postal service providing 100% tracking 1 to 2% of packages shipped were claimed to be lost in the mails by buyers. Since tracking has been in place (for more then a year) the loss rate is 0% this is not because the postal service has improved, but because it is no longer possible to claim non-delivery when tracking is available.
Tracking and Signature Confirmation is for the sellers protection and not the buyers. Please read the eBay buyer protection program to see why."

I'd say it's a little of both (informative and passive aggressive).
As an international buyer I always ask for tracking as well and am happy to pay the extra (provides better protection for both buyer and seller).
But it doesn't 100% guarantee anything. I've have parcels (fully tracked) that have vanished off the grid with no tracking update, only to get delivered weeks later. I've had numerous USPS parcels that get delivered that never show a single update since the initial shipping status.

Thanks for posting.
I agree with you that it's a bit of both.
It has made me wonder if I want to buy from him at all, because when he is already like this from the getgo. I would not reply to a customer in this manner.
I have tried that with tracking aswell. tracking is at a standstill with no updates. But the packages with tracking have always been delivered, so the end result is good.

I wont ship anything without tracking number even if i am paying for it. It is irritating when a seller does not offer this option i think its bs.

I ship everything with tracking, and almost always with signature required.
However, he is right about the cost of overseas FedEx.

I do not question the price on shipping.
I was more interested in knowing if other people picked up the latent agressiveness, or if it's me being easily provoked.

I sense a douchebag
No, actually he seems fine. Just answering your inquiry, keeping things professional. I don't sense any hostility.

Thanks for your input guys.
Even so, I still think he could have been more diplomatic.
