Just Scored Lone Ranger from Issue #1!!!

Someone traded in the first six issues of the Lone Ranger at the store today, and I snapped them up for me. I'm really glad to have these, and to be able to start picking up the regular series--I'm really a fan, and now I can have the whole thing from #1. Hi-yo!

Score! I've heard good things about this series but have never picked up an issue. This reminds me of a title from a few years ago called Deperados. I started on 4 and was lucky enough to get the 1st 3 but ended the series on issue 5 because lack of interest.

I haven't read an issue yet, but I've heard so many good things about it.

What's better the trade or the HC? Do they have the same content?

Desperadoes continues to be published these days by IDW. There was a long hiatus after the first series, drawn by John Cassaday, but it has lived on as series of mini series. There are a few trades available from Image and I would imagine that IDW will be collecting some new ones as well.

I just picked up the HC today--it looks like the same content, unless I'm missing something.

Great series. I have a thing about collecting a new title without starting from the beginning, so I was thrilled to get a second chance for this great new book.

I like the new Lone Ranger, but I just don't think it's the Bees Knees like you all seem to. I thought it read a bit slow. I.M.H.O., Garth Ennis's Ghost Rider, Trail of Tears was a better western. D,C.'s Jonnah Hex trumps 'em all. Maybe, with the Ranger's origin finishing, the book will take on a more serial format and pick up the pace.

I can see what you're saying, protector. I'm not reading GR, but I am reading Jonah Hex, and loving that, too. My excitement for LR comes at least in part from a childhood love for the character, and the joy at seeing him finally done well (I hesitate to say "right", since I firmly believe there are many good takes to be had on one character...) in comic form.
