A lot of villains don't see themselves as "evil", they're just doing what comes naturally to them.
Dr. Doom doesn't see himself as evil, nor does Magneto. Crap, I think even Darkseid and Thanos might fall under this category (I don't know much about Darkseid, but I do know his main goal is to find the "anti-life equation", and Thanos' main goal is to what?... Improve his standings with Mistress Death?)
Villains like Joker and Carnage (who I think is one of the most retarded villains out there) see themselves as evil, I'm sure. Aren't they also insane, though? One somewhat goes with the other, yes?

Mounds don't.

There are those that wouldn't think of themselves as evil because they fight for a cause they stalwartly believe in - Mags, Apocalypse, Kang, Ra's Al Ghul, Sinestro, Black Adam.
There are those who are evil because they are opportunistic and greedy - Sabretooth, Red Skull, Doom, Lex Luthor, Deathstroke, Zoom.
Then there are those that fall into that gray area - villains who are insane/possessed with a power that corrupts/turned into something evil - Joker, Venom, Star Sapphire, Solomon Grundy.

Magneto of course.
Is Doom just that ego-centric?
