I know i said last year was my last year at sdcc but i was able to get tickets and a great hotel so i couldn't pass it up, plus my wife said it was ok to go
.
It was great hanging out with bill and larry for most the con we were able to snag great pieces, celeb sigs and toys.
I had one pre done piece for the con with carlo pagulayan, i didn't want another planet hulk since i had one already but i coulnd't get a piece beside a hulk from him so i went with a transformation piece that i've been thinking about for awhile already and who better than carlo to do it.
The next was a piece that was suppose to be done at heroes (thanks to doug peters and his con sketch server for this) but with all the issue there art couldn't get to it so he said by sdcc it would be done, i wrestled with the idea of what to get from art and in the end i decided to go with bat girl instead of a planet hulk/hulk. After seeing stephen piece i'm kicking my self for not sticking to my hulk request but in the end the bat girl does look great.
And my last 2 additions are something i thought i would never have a chance to get. I've always liked brian stelfreeze's art and his use of color on all his pieces so i decided this year i was going to try and get on his list and cross my fingers. In the end i ended up with 2 fantastic pieces from him a mary jane head shot and full figure black cat. I know he didn't do many but i'm glad and excited he managed to do my 2 pieces.
I was also able to nab a community signing along with the sin city 2 signing (granted it wasn't the booth signing but it was a consolation prize after not being able to get the ticket like larry did) I was face to face with jessica alaba and rosario dawson and that's all that mattered to me
I was also able to help out carlos and cam on some pieces and i'm sure they will post when they get them but overall the show was a blast i had a great time, i'm tired as hell but it was well worth it.
Thanks for looking
