Angry Joe Q, no love for Walt's Thor?

From this past Friday's Q/A session with Joe Q comes this:

RQ: “IronWolf” - Joe, I saw some previews for the new Thor and man I like it, but I've NEVER EVER read a Thor book before. What do you recommend I start with to get me into the character and can we get some more peeks at that great ART!?!?!?!?!?!

JQ: Okay, let’s see. I would suggest the following trades.

Thor: Bloodoath, Thor: The Eternals Saga, Avengers Disassembled: Thor, Thor Masterworks and Thor Essentials. And if you’re interested in a slightly different take on the Thor myth, one of my all time faves, Thor: Son of Asgard.

He references Son of Asgard and not a single mention of Walt Simonson's Thor Visionaries books!!!

Dammit, Joe, what's the matter with you???

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

He probably only listed books currently in print. It's all about sales!

Yeah, I know, still I can't conceive answering the "What do you recommend I start with to get me into the character" question and leaving out Simonson's Thor.

Perhaps HE hasn't read them. Lets face it, he's openly said he doesn't care about continuity before, why would he start with a character he hardly cares about?

Thor: Bloodoath was OK, but was it anything beyond a forgettable mini series? Talk about just plugging the stuff you personally ok'd.
