The spookiest decorations this year are all of the blasted snow covered fallen tree limbs and branches that I have to clear out of my yard.

It's unbelievable, losing power on Saturday night, and waking Sunday morning to another disaster zone like the one from almost three years ago (the ice storm of December 2008), with the neighborhood's Halloween decorations completely snow covered.

But Trick or Treating went great, and let's hope that this snow storm was a once in a lifetime fluke.

Did you even get a lot of trick or treaters with all the snow?

Not as much as usual. But our neighborhood has a pre-trick or treating potluck "bonfire" at the same house each year, and the street over from our street has a lot of families with kids, so it's enough to make it worthwhile. The streets were pretty clear of snow and ice, although one kid took a huge spill (his screams of pain added a bit to the Halloween environment).

Then, there was a skunk on another neighbor's porch tearing into all the candy they had left out for the kids!
