Images are HUGE

Anybody know why the images are huge now? They cause the page to stretch horizontally and I have to scroll to the right now.

I seem to remember that they were smaller and clickable so that you could see the full size image if you wanted to.

Thanks

If you "Go Advanced" when making your post then click the paperclip icon it should work...

or are you talking about how it used to be with the little border over the image that you click to enlarge? Yeah, I'm not sure about that...

Yeah, I think the forum software changed at some point and caused the automatic resizing feature to stop working for some browsers. Thankfully there is a fix, at least on chrome, instructions here:

Afterward, I recommend clearing cookies (for Statue Forum anyway) from your browser, otherwise you might be logged out of the forum after about 20 idle minutes, even if you check the Remember Me option when logging in. Hope this helps

There's another way that should not get borked. Got a bunch to do for a while but I'll see if I can write it up.

What browsers are you using SD Guy and how do you browse i.e. regular tabs/windows or private/incognito?

BTW this is happening because of new browser deprecation trials and the code that resizes the images.

I know this is a couple of months old now but I had this issue, too (using Safari, which doesn't allow insecure content on a secure page).

Like qz33 alluded to, it seems to be due to the source link for the image resizer in the php code.

This line specifically (in showthread.php):
Code:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.statueforum.com/clientscript/ncode_imageresizer.js?v=1.0.1"></script>
If that source link was changed (server side) to https, it should rectify the issue. You can see this for yourself if you create a local override with that edit.

I'm not necessarily recommending this but, to avoid the issue, I've just been accessing the site using: http://www.statueforum.com (as opposed to https).

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I actually PM'd d rod a month ago about this issue. He replied saying that he informed the webmaster about it, but seems like the webmaster hasn't updated the site.

Here's the message I sent:

I was hoping you could fix an issue with the image resizer plugin I noticed.

It works if you access the site through HTTP, but not through HTTPS, which is now the default for modern web browsers.

Here's the error message that Chrome sends:

And here's the page source.
Notice that the image resizer plugin is specifically using the HTTP protocol, while the other scripts are just calling the paths:

tl;dr change
HTML Code:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.statueforum.com/clientscript/ncode_imageresizer.js?v=1.0.1"></script>
to
HTML Code:
<script type="text/javascript" src="clientscript/ncode_imageresizer.js?v=1.0.1"></script>
Hopefully it is possible to make this change.
