Sand Paper help

What Grits do you guys use when you are about to put a kit together to make everything fit right and when you guys are done putting a kit together and want to sand down the apoxie to make it very smooth for paint? There are just too many and i am confused on what to use. Please help, and please give me the grit numbers and not just say Various grits.

You will find that you will use a number of various grit sandpaper to do what is needed. Mainly, I use Medium and fine sanding sponges, 100, 220, 320, 1000, 1500, 3000, 4000 sand papers/sanding film and steel wool (0000) for final polish
