The Following
Watched the premier last night and it has my interest. Only complaint is a typical FBI agent who gets depressed from dealing with a degenerative serial killer hunt who ends up injuring the FBI agent (shades of Ed Norton and Hannibal Lechter). The villian is creepy. Won't spoil the story but I like Kevin Bacon and will continue for now.

I also have interest in the show. The heartbeat sound effects throughout got a little overboard and left me with an "I got the point" feeling. I hope they reel that in

Agreed on all counts. The stereotypical burned out or "damaged" from the horror agent is something I could do without, but otherwise liked a lot.

That was a good pilot, dark and intense; also they managed to establish good amount of character history in a single episode.

Man, I loved it! James Purefoy, who's been the star or had leading roles in so much stuff we've talked about here (Camelot, Rome, Solomon Kane, etc.) stole the show for me. He's just such a great, intriguing actor. Love that he may be the puppet-master from jail. Bacon's character is strong right out the gate. The "Poe" angle is pushed a little too hard in terms of references, but I can easily live with that. This could be really good.

thought this was well done. tons of subplots are possible and the villian was well played and Kevin bacon proved he still has it.

I knew I recognized the music during the ending of episode 2, as it was the same song used for Watchmen profile trailer of Rorschach. Song is Angel by Massive Attack. But looks like The Following used a cover version with different (male) vocals, while I think the original had lyrics sung by a female. The cover version is by Sepultura.
As for the episode 2 ending. SPOILERS (Highlight text)

Are they implying something more about the agent or was she just granting his rights with access to casual reading? Even though it's supposedly complete works of Poe.
