Gene Colan has passed away

Today, in the aftermath of my birthday celebration yesterday, I woke up to the news that Gene Colan passed away yesterday night.

The full details were posted on the blog:
http://thecliffordmethod.blogspot.com/

It's indeed a sad day with one of the greatest in the industry leaving us.

I can count myself lucky I got a piece from him a couple years ago, it was my second commission ever:

Rest In Peace Gene.

Oh man... I grew up loving this man's work. Awful shame. Over the years, I was lucky enough to have chanced upon a wonderful Dr. Strange splash page from the late 70s. It came signed too.

Terrible news. He was one of the true great artists as well as being a class act. I got a commission from him a few years back. He was quite Ill and it took longer than he had originally said. He was so apologetic, though it wasn't necessary. With all his problems he was still concerned about taking care of a fan. I think that speaks volumes.

I got to meet him once, albeit briefly, but still you knew you were in the presence of legend.
