DVD sales = profits????

Guys, was wondering if anyone could shed some light. When you see an awesome film like serenity bomb at the box office, people go on to say dont worry, DVD sales will boost its earning. But does anyone know a site, or have any idea how much a film is likely to earn from their DVD sales?

Thanks!

The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

Well I would think aintitcool or boxofficemojo would have dvd numbers or you could just start a google expedition to get exact figures. One thing I've heard for awhile now is that the "back end" of a film (dvd sales and rentals plus various broadcast rights) makes more money than the "front end" (the theatrical release)...
