What do you all know about a Marvel reboot?
This was from another forum... Fact or hearsay
"I honestly think that Marvel is about to do a reboot, or at least a
rewind to a few years ago. They even have some plotlines that have a
next step of something being reset, such as World War Hulk, Endangered
Species and whatever the hell they are doing with Magneto. (Sentry has
reality control powers an he is going to end the war, Dr. Strange
advised Hank that changing reality was the only way to fix things. )
Perhaps they will rewind to right before the house of M."

Captain America and Hulk seem to title characters replaced and Spidey and Thor have been revamped (Ironman/Tony Stark was changed during Civil War) .
If the outcome of the X-men "Messiah" crossover changes the "mutant society" and the Avenger teams are headed into conflict/invasion with the remnants of the Skrull empire......If they do a rewind it may have to go as far as the first Kree/Skrull War that involved Rick Jones and the Avengers. Maybe the damage is to great they may decide to base future Marvel Universe stories somewhere other than the 616(current) universe.
IMO the Invaders time travel mini-series and/or the return of Captain Marvel may be the "X-factor" needed to change the direction of the Marvel Universe.

Heck with that. Go further back, like to the mid '80s.

Well i think they are and i have the feeling that Mar-Vell is the one to do so.
After all the craptastic stuff they are putting out these days, with event after event that just doesnt deliver. It seems more and more are dropping books.
So what simple, yet big way in the Reign of Joe Q's eyes use to reboot the MU -> Mar-Vell.
Just send him back and whisper some stuff into Cap Amercias ears or any number of characters while hes on his death bed from cancer. And you got a massive reboot.
Hell at this point i am hopeing for a reboot since i just dont read anything by marvel anymore (except Annihilation).
PS: i bet something big like this is what they might consider to compete with DCs final crisis. Cause Joe Q said at a forum that marvel is not interested in continuity. Which is screwing up everything about the MU. A reboot is needed IMHO.

I would be surprised beyond belief if Marvel did a major reboot because that would be akin to Bobby stepping out of the shower on Dallas. I believe that type of reboot back to years in the past would tear down what Joe Q has built. And yes, there are plenty of accomplishments during Joe Q's era (well beyond the financial sense, which can't be overlooked either), no matter how fashionable slamming on Joe may be among some minority circles.
Why would anyone think there is a NEED for a major reboot? Some of Marvel's best stories in decades have come during the past few years. Does anyone really think that Marvel wipe out strong, memorable stories such as Brubaker's Captain America run, Brubaker's Daredevil run, World War Hulk, Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men run, Kyle and Yost's New X-Men run, the Marvel Civil War, etc., etc., etc.? Not to mention the great start they have on the new Thor series?
No way. In fact, I'll go so far as to say "ABSOLUTELY no how, no way, it will never, ever happen."
I believe Marvel knows what a cop-out that would be. There's no Bobby in the shower in Marvel's future.

Gosh, I hope this doesn't happen. I thought the was sort of the premise behind the Ultimate U. (But then they screwed that up with a horrible run on U X-Men)
Everything else being equal, I think we need better continuity in the MU.
