fda approves anti-nausea patch
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080915/...ed_chemo_patch
good news for those going through chemo. i can't help but wonder...is this the fda's counter to current legislation attempting to legalize marijuana? up until now, there were a lot of places in california that offer mj for medicinal purposes. will this patch give the feds the ammo they need to close down those establishments permanently?

This is certainly some good news for cancer patients who are suffering enough as it is.

interesting - I tried at least 5 different naseau medications during my treatment, including a scopalamine patch (which was indicated for motion sickness). Hopefully this fills the niche for some people who were not seeing results with other drugs.
Incidentally the drug that worked best for me cost $800 a pill.

Yeppers.
It costs me (for Evil-Lyn) the high end of my co-pay, $75 for 10 pills.

I say legalize it! Does this patch assist with giving an appetite to one in need of nourishment to aid in the healing process? Doubtful. So many drugs have dangerous side effects and are incredibly expensive (especially to the millions of people without medical insurance), that it seems weed is a safer and FAR cheaper alternative. Not to mention, the mood enhancing qualities that many people experience, which is obviously a positive thing for those suffering from cancer and other such ailments. Also, marijuana works virtually immediately.
