Well, actually, it was me and 999 other people, but still...
There's an actual independent bookstore left around here (called "a Real Bookstore") that gets great support from the community. They were able to book Stephen King for one of (I think) 5 dates he was using to promote his latest novel,
11/22/63, a time travel story based around the Kennedy assassination. He spoke to a crowd of 1000 for an hour at McKinney North High School, telling stories, reading from the novel, and answering questions. The guy is so laid-back and affable, and I enjoyed every minute of it. No pictures, unfortunately, but I'll never forget it.
Has anyone here ever met him or attended one of his appearances?
