Among the items taken included a Stan Lee-signed Captain America shield, a Doctor Doom statue and about 700 Blu-Ray discs, according to longtime collector Martin Anderson.
The collectibles — which he amassed over a 40-year period — were stolen sometime between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday, Anderson said.
He added that he believed he had been deliberately targeted.
“You see the broken glass, they came in through the window, and they took everything that’s high-end,” Anderson told KTLA. A surveillance system in the home was also disabled during the time when power was cut to the home, he said.
Anderson had a message to whoever was responsible for taking the items. “You’re not going to be able to sell that stuff, guys. They’re going to know you took it,” he said.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Altadena Station told KTLA that Anderson has filed a report.
KTLA’s Kacey Montoya and Tracy Bloom contributed to this report.
