If this is 1/5 scale, I would think the price point would be much higher.......$4000-$5000. They clearly would not be going after the mass market, so I am sure they are not worried about the retail. Those mega fans with money will pay anything, so it might work out for them to do a very limited run of 50 at a higher retail. In the end, I am sure they would be doing it to essentially recoup mold costs.

I with size of the 1/5th Rex, taking into account weight and strength needed, Fibre glass cast seems the only route for the vast majority of the Rex!

I wouldn't think that high, plus the hardest part which is the head is already done.

The 1:5 Rex is exactly 7' long and 3' tall and will weigh about 65-70 pounds. Our factory is willing to produce 50 pieces which means after our internal and Universal samples we'll have about 40 to sell.
We do not have a price set on these but we do know that it will ship in three piece. The tail will separate and the base will be removable.
I know people will fuss that there is a slight tail seam, but we can't ship a 7' box without palletizing and crating.
This will be a direct sale item only, no overseas retailers and no wholesale. The lucky few that get one will have the ultimate Jurassic Park collectible.

Thanks for the info Paul, you're right about it being the ultimate JP collectible. I'm sure with only 40 pieces it will be an instant sell out. And I agree that shipping it in pieces was really the only practical way to go. I'll wait for more price info, if I can afford it I'll try for a spot an order

Due to the extremely limited run on this perhaps Chronicle customers could get an early pre order window?
