I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

I would go all the way back in time when the first creatures inhabited the earth and step on a bug or kill a lizard, thus altering all future events.

The was a fairly recent time travel movie where that is essentially the plot. A school time travel trip to the past alters the future. Anyone know the title?

I'd go back and buy as many early Detective, Action Comics, X-Men, Avengers, comics I could find.

Removing any significant number of these books from their place in history could seriously affect both their present day values and the comics industry as a whole.

A Sound of Thunder. Classic Ray Bradbury story; can't speak for the movie.
