Figured so, despite my first thought the Surfer was a knock off. Thanks for the confirm, James.

I actually got into a Kirby debate with my 14 year old today. We were watching the JLU episode where Green Arrow, Vigilante, Shining Knight and other non-powered heroes were going up against the army general who turned himself into a version of Doomsday. The kids in that episode were spitting images of The Newsboy Legion. Believe it or not, after all this time, he doubted me. I pulled out my Jack Kirby Heroes & Villains book, opened it to his Newsboy Legion page, paused the DVD frame on those kids, and showed him the error of his ways.

Love the King!
