I think you should name it "BD failed at teh HD experience"
Not necessarily because it true, just to infuriate some BD fanboys.

While I see your point I think they have to be hard on the studios to produce the best product out there. If they were the online HD provider out there then sure they can do that, but with how close everything is they need to make the studios up their game.
Especially when it is a studio that have exclusive support, its not like I can do get Die Hard or Robocop on HD DVD, they want to push people to buy their format when I am more tempted to go buy them all on regular DVD at this point.

I love the way the term "BD fanboys" or "Blu-ray fanboys" is thrown around.

No..Not every PS2 game is published by Sony but they do have to approve every game that's released for ther system.
I remember a stink years ago when the PS2 first came out and Sony refused a game because it was 2d. They didn't want 2d games on the PS2, so it went bye, bye. They changed their minds later and some 2d games made it to the system, but the point is, they have total say in what content is put onto their machine.

Yes, Sony must approve a game to be released on their platform.
And here is another little tidbit, you have to pay them to check your game for final approval which is in the thousands of dollars range and they can still say no.

And what about Panasonic, Sharp, Pioneer, Denon, Philips, Samsung and LG all Blu Ray player makers?

But if you want to release something onto the most successful games console ever you are going to have to pay. I don't see the problem.

Preachin to the choir, bro. I'm still dvd only and this is one of the reasons why. I think right now, all Sony cares about is getting as many movies as they can out on shelves in BD format. Right or wrong, I think that's all they're focused on. I can see the argument for either side. Get more movies out there or get less movies out there with better content? I guess it depends on what's more important to you. The movies are what really matter, but I like my extra crap too. DVD for me for the time being.
